Record Visitor Levels for Disneyland Resort Paris

Disneyland Resort Paris

Disneyland Resort Paris has released figures showing record levels of visitors to the French home of Mickey Mouse and friends.

In the year end September 2008, the resort (owned by Euro Disney SCA) announced that revenue was boosted by 15.3 million visitors to £1,050 million - a nine per cent rise on the previous cyear. This led to a net profit of £1.35 million.

The increased revenue is mainly due to increased customer spend with an extremely high hotel occupancy of 91%.

Great news for Phillipe Gas, Chief Executive for Euro Disney SCA, as last year's figures showed a £32.8 million loss at the end of September 2007. Gas stated it was "an important milestone" and would position the resort for long-term growth.

Disneyland Resort Paris welcomed its 200 millionth visitor in August this year and is currently celebrating its 15th birthday.
